Who was Thomas Wright?
Thomas Wright (22 September 1711 – 25 February 1786) was an English astronomer, mathematician, instrument maker, architect and garden designer. He was the first to describe the shape of the Milky Way and to speculate that faint nebulæ were distant galaxies.

‘Fantastic hospitality and comfort – We were met with a lovely warm reception and our dog was made genuinely welcome too. She was provided with a water bowl and a blanket, and we came down to breakfast to find the same placed by our table, so kind and helpful. Our rooms were fresh and comfortable, with lovely large fluffy towels. The breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked, including a delicious gluten-free meal for our daughter who has Coeliac disease.
